What are some reasons that affected Native Americans when settlers took over their land?

  1. To me, the native Americans had learned how to live off of the environment which was presented to them and were satisfied with that existence.

    However, they were not prepared to defend that environment from a technologically superior enemy.

    Such is life when viewed through the Darwinian prism.


  2. Rex posed a great example.  Disease, danger, diasphora (when a people group are driven from their homeland and drift apart looking for a home).

    The Pilgrims managed to co-exist with indigenous folk for a time.  Why didn't we learn from them?   Shame on us!

  3. There have been  many books written about the circumstances..Just imagine..someone moved into your front and/or back yard..started cutting down your trees. shooting your pets..Fouling your drinking water  ???..they couldn't dial 911..
