  1. No reason .. be a french citizen if u love this country, speak well french, know well french culture

  2. To make it short we feel good in France and anywhere in the world is safe for us since we think twice before going to war.

I am never worried for my life when i travel, plus i always meet people and have long conversation with them without them feeling any arrogance from my part just because i am french and so proud of it.

  3. As opposed to simply having a Carte de Séjour? I went ahead and got my citizenship because I never have to reapply for anything ever again. I'm a citizen for life while my Carte de Séjour would have only been good for 10 years and I would have had to renew.

If for some reason, I have to leave France (an extreme measure, I think if my husband died, for example), I could always return to France.

As a French citizen, I am able to live and work in any EU country now, which isn't possible with just my American citizenship. I also am the mother of three French citizens so that was a factor too obviously!

It wasn't very difficult. While getting residency in France is much more difficult than say, getting a U.S. green card, going the next step and getting citizenship was much easier. I had to interview with the police, a judge and gather some paperwork together. The U.S. Consulate helped. There was no fee and no travel restriction while I waited (like there is in the U.S.)

Best of all, I can keep both nationalities for life. There is no conflict and no impact on taxes (a common myth but taxes are based on residency).

    hope that answers your question!

  4. Citizens of France work far less than their American counterparts with a 35 hour work week mandated by the government along with 31 days of vacation a year.

French citizens have access to universal health insurance, an excellent system of subsidized public transportation,  and a host of other government mandated social benefits.

French workers have a variety of government protections on the job, most importantly, they cannot be fired for anything short of actual criminal activity on the job without becoming eligible for an unbelievably generous system of benefits.

  5. The wine ..and cheese...
