  1. I personally enjoy blue and yellow.  The blue is so relaxing and yellow is happy to me.  I love color, too but just plain ol white makes me feel like I'm in a hospital and kind of boring.  Good luck and have fun.

  2. blue is relaxing also seafoam and light yellow or you could go with a light sage...anything earthy

  3. Brown furnishings does it for me...maybe some good panelling and rosewood endtables..preferably French provincial..

  4. Ocean blue, light lavender and pale yellow are considered serene colors. I recommend painting the walls a nice neutral beige and accented with the above 3 colors (especially the ocean blue).

Unknown fact: Having neutral colored walls also allows creativity since the wall color does not interfere with the imagination.

  5. Blue, green, natural colors are good for relaxing.

I wouldn't go with red for relaxing cause it promotes energy and passion.

Yellow is depressing if you sit and look at it for hours on end. But it goes great in a hallways for a boost of energy.

Never use black on your walls, only use black as ascents or accessories.

I Hope this helps you out.

  6. In my opinion, peach and other variations of it are very warm and relaxing colors besides, blue just pops out too much for me, or and burgundy curtains would be great with a peach shade

  7. lite green is good for the bathroom lol

lite blue is good for the living room and I just think pink and red r very relaxing

  8. Blue /jade green.

  10. It probably seems like light shades of colors would be more relaxing but it actually puts you in more of a perky mood. If you want relaxing colors you should probably go with darker shades. Dark blue is very relaxing. Green can be relaxing or can make you feel more energized depending on the shade. Dark blue and plum would look good together. If you were to paint your bedroom light blue you could just paint the living room either dark blue or dark green. Well, I hope you have fun painting your apartment and you enjoy the results.

  11. Find the bedding you adore and determine a paint color after that.  Don't match the paint color to the bedding but use something that goes with it.

If you use blue, use a grayed blue.  Taupe is good but again, it depends on the bedding you find.

  12. beige, cream and even grey are all relaxing. I suggest pastel colours or baby colours, peach, light yellow, browns and light blues also look great. If you are going to use red I think something darker is definetely better if you are going for a warm feel and red isn't always tense. It can be relaxing when used in small and less bright amounts.

  13. The living room: Beige. A light tan color.

  14. Color preference is too personal. What others consider relaxing con be agitating to others. If you ask me, I would choose cool white as the main color with apple green and light yellow as secondary colors and darker version of the two for accessories.

If you go for relaxing colors scheme you could try any of the following:

    >White plus one cool color like blues and greens. Example: white and royal blue

    >3 to 5 various shades and hues of the same color ( especially cool ones ). Example dark blue, medium blue and  light blue.

    >Pastels ( light colors ) like sky blue and light mint, but be careful the colors you choose may not work.

    >Natural colors like whites, off white, cream, beige, etc. These colors are very flexible and you can add other colors if you like in form of accessories. Good for people who easily grows bored and want to have fresh looks every moment.

These colors are great, but try it out on paper first to see if you would like them.

You could also try looking for objects that has color combinations that you consider relaxing and use that colors, like color combinations from a fabric, a picture or a painting.

If you want to get more sense of serenity you could try using horizontal lines on your walls( horizontal lines  are said to be relaxing ), adding potted plants( refreshing greens ) and removing clutter.

Of course relaxation is not only for the eyes. How about adding an indoor fountain ( gurgling water is said to be relaxing ) for your ears, a relaxing lavender scented candles or potpourri for your nose, a large open window for the cool breeze ( if you one ) an afghan for your tired back and a day bed for those naps.

Of course you don't have to take all of them. They may work for others while it make others puke. Just take the ideas that you want and add other ideas of your own and have fun decorating.

By the way better select the curtains and other fabrics first before buying paints. It is hard to find a fabric to match with the paint than to find a paint to match the fabric. You know colors for fabrics are limited while colors for paints are countless.

  15. my bedroom has a white background with light blue and light green stripes. i always feel calm when i walk into my room because of the colors.

  16. The best color is white. Keep EVERY room in the house white. Why? Because you will soon grow weary of every other color after a while and you will have to repaint again--(no fun job anyone wil tell you!) Also white makes the whole house look clean. Also every drape and piece of furniture you ever buy, will match perfectly with the white walls. No question about it. White, or off white, is the only real way to go.

  17. Here are colors that go together and are pleasing to the eye:

    Red&Green (Christmas!!!)

    Blue&Orange

    Purple&Yellow

Dark colors are more relaxing to me whereas light colors tend to be more energetic.

    Hope this helped!!!

  18. I just painted my room a very relaxing color of sea breeze. It's kind of a sea green blue.  But light or pastel colors are really relaxing. Go with a light blue or pale green.

  19. For me blue is the most relaxing color.  Red makes me tense and stressed.

  20. Yellow is a relaxing color used in department stores to encourage spending.

  21. blues and browns or earthy colours, works for me

  22. depends what color relaxes you. i personally like looking at green colors. but then, that's me. you can pick your own.

  23. A kind of green tea/seafoam color. Light gray is also a relaxing color. Then theres lavender, and white tinted with blue, pink or green.

  24. i think a lightish blue color is very calming and peaceful for a living room. its like the ocean. but make sure you dont chose a blue that is too light.

for curtains, you should put some white curtains up. that color matches best with a light blue backround.

good luck on ur color choices!
