  1. This is a bit of a promotional answer, but we're just launching, and so you might not find our service listed anywhere yet.

We're just in the midst of launching cityvibrations.com. We offer offbeat visits of Paris on private tours - an alternative to the bus tour and the herds of tourists, if you will. You get to choose your guide and the theme that interests you.

You have your own guide, so price is not cheap. But neither is the ride on that double-decker bus, as it turns out - and you get more out of it. "The city others won't see", we call it...

As for getting from Le Havre to Paris, the train is your most dependable solution.

I hope this helps. Have a good time. First time to Paris?

  2. As per previous answer, the best way from Le Havre to Paris is by train... quick, cheap and reliable.

If you are new to Paris, a nice way of familiarising yourself with the city is to take a Seine river cruise, also know as bateaux mouches. From memory, these depart from Pont de L'Alma.

  3. I agree with Rillifane -- you can easily get basic information from a guidebook and take yourself around the major tourist sites.  If, however, you want off-the-beaten track places or deeper information than might be in a book, you could check www.paris-eiffel-tower-news.com.  I think Arthur is still doing private or semi-private walking tours.

  4. Trains leave several times a day from Le Havre to Paris. The trip takes about 2 hours and can cost as little as 15 euros one way at off peak hours.

Paris is a very easy city to get around and explore and its sights so familiar, even to people who have never set foot in the city, that guides are, in my opinion, an unnecessary expense.  Any good guide book will serve as guide enough for any reasonably literate and intelligent person.
