  1. I have lived in a resort village and it was just that, a fishing village, rich people had vacation condos there which were empty most of the year. China doesnt really have "rich areas" per se. Their culture is not the same as westerners and space is at a premium, they build UP not spread out.  There are gated communities where most foreigners live, and they are wealthy by Chinese standards because they are paid the salaries they would receive in their own countries.

There are many very weathy Chinese business people, its an interesting question because I have never heard of or seen an area exclusive to very rich homes.

  2. Hong Kong...it's more British really...

  3. Pudong area in Shanghai

Central/Western area in HK and a lot of other HK areas(New Kowloon, etc)

Basically like American cities, the business districts of any major city would be rich. But Shanghai and HongKong stands out simply because of their economic power.

Generally people southern cities are richer than northern ones. And I'm guessing resort cities also have some rich people living in them.
