  1. Do not follow too close - stay far back enough from the car in front of you so you can stop without hitting it, even if it suddenly hits the brakes.

  2. Be patient and courteous.

    • Do not drive when angry, overtired or upset.

    • Allow extra time to get to your destination.

    • When possible, change your schedule to avoid congestion.

    • Listen to relaxing music or books on tape.

    • Give other drivers the benefit of the doubt — all drivers make mistakes.

    • Avoid all conflict, even if you are right.

  3. The best advice for highway driving is 1) keep your distance - at least a couple of hundred feet (the vehicle in front will appear about 1/2 inch tall)...When someone cuts in front of you, let them go or back off from them just a bit to get that spacing back...2) Go with the flow - be about the same speed as surrounding traffic - if you want to go slower, stay to the right...Remember, driving too slow is as dangerous as driving too fast...Before you do anything, know where you're going and what roads to take to get there - on ramps and off ramps plus even an alternate way to go (in case of accidents or road closures).

Be prepared, patient, smooth and predictable.

    All the best

  4. use tha force

  5. If you are a nervous driver, only drive a few hours at a time, then stop, and take a break.  This break can consist of anything that works for you...it may be just a stop and a jog around the car....or it may have to be a little nap...or it can be a coffee and a doughnut...what ever works for you,.  I will cation you though on eating...I drive for hours at a time, hauling a trailer...if I stop for fuel etc...I try not to eat a big meal or  even a hamburger...why...because if I eat then I get sleepy.  stick to little snacks and coffee or what ever drink is preferred...just get plenty of rest...if you feel that you are getting too tired for driving...then it is time to hang it up for the night and find a place to crash.

  6. KEEP TO THE RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS.. I hate it when people ride the left lane going 70 when the speedlimit is 75 UGH! BECAUSE In the state that im from, Cops acctually right you a citation for passing on the right!

  7. one basic piece of advice will cover everything. Always expect the other guy to do the dumbest thing at any time and prepare your self accordingly.  Either more space between you and them, slowing down, doublechecking all directions before starting to move, check mirrors more than once and oftern.  And when behind the wheel, DRIVE. By that I mean don't do anything else, no eating, drinking, reading, phone. you know the drill.

  8. i find that if you follow the speed limit it makes driving so much eaiser because most people go a little over, therefore the faster drivers are the ones that have to change lanes, or change speeds to adjust following distances, you can keep your lane and it is a lot easier to keep a good following distance. it just makes driving a lot safer and less stressfull.

  9. use the phone as much as you can, eat out of one hand and drink out of the other............ put your head out of the window, till your eyes water, and do it again..............and if you really want to be safe, throw your car in park or reverse than put it back in drive before it stops...... hope this helps you..............

  10. rebel

    no sudden moves.

    watch the road

    anticipate

  11. 1) Don't follow the car in front of you too closely.

    2) If three lanes are available, take the middle.  If two lanes are available, then stay in the right lane, but be mindful of cars merging onto the road.

    3) Don't distract yourself with other activities.
