  1. A current concern is the safe disposal and isolation of either spent fuel from reactors or, if reprocessing is done, wastes from reprocessing plants.

    Under the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982, the U.S. Department of Energy has responsibility for the development of a national waste disposal system for spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste.


  2. Nuclear power, nuclear subs, nuclear bombs?  What is the question as there are no nuclear cars.

  3. While I don't know what your question about nuclear power  has to do with cars & transportation, I'll give you an answer anyway...

    People are afraid of nuclear power because of the huge potential for disaster, like they had in Chernobyl, Russia  some 20 years ago.  In reality, current nuclear power technology is probably safer and more environmentally friendly than coal fired power plants that are in operation today.
