  1. Not eating, floating or sinking, breathing harder(gills move faster). I hope this helps you!

  2. if they're kinda white, not swimming, some will float and some drown(fall to the bottom)

  3. If it starts getting fungus on it, if it stops eating, maybe too overweight, always seems tired. GOOD LUCK!

  4. Hi, the most common sign comes way before the fish starts to deteriorate but it's easy to spot, it's called an unfiltered bowl/starter tank together with a lack of knowledge on the part of the owner.

If you house your fish correctly & keep on top of your tank maintenence as described on the link below there is no reason to worry about untimely deaths.

  5. You need to look at all possible signs of the fish being sick. Parasites and fungus is the likely killers of fishes in home aquarium tanks. There are a few cases of fishes die of old age, more fishes die in aquariums due to parasites and fungus. The reason that this happens is because the water quality or if the parasites was on the fish or in the fishes bag when you got it.

White spots, fungus looking things, scales being ruffled meaning dropsy, and others, these things happens more often than fishes living to an old age. However this can be prevented by giving the proper care, nutrition and healthy water can all contribute to having a healthy living fish. The fish in your picture is healthy at this time, whatever or however you are keeping it in this state, keep it up, you are doing a great job.

I hope this helps, thanks for asking................

  6. A loss of appetite is usually a major sign.
