  1. I spent a semester over there. LOVE IT!! You've got to enjoy the night life of temple bar and eat late night fast food from a vending macine and then enjoy the country side while touring the Ring of Kerry!!

  2. New-grange, its older than the pyramids of egypt and its more complete than stonehenge. It is an ancient calender for the winter soliste.

  3. I would second Newgrange, and alo suggest the Hill of Tara,  seat of the ancient kings of Ireland.

In Dublin - The Guiness Brewery, Go to see the book of Kells,

Also second the Cliffs of moher - the folk music scene in nearby fisherstreet is great.

Gallway city is nice, reasonably close to Connemara - Cong is not farr from thre and relatively unknown unless you are a John Wayne fan but very beautiful walks around it too

  4. Don't waste alot of time on a plane, train or bus. Pick two cities, no more, and visit them!

Killarney and Galway are my favorites.

    Slan!

  5. The main one that comes to mind is :THE BLARNEY STONE!

  6. No trip to Ireland would be complete without a visit to Moyross and O' Malley Park in Limerick.

  7. Derry for some proper irish history...

  8. Stay in one area, don't kill yourself driving all the way around the country in just one week. The roads here are not built for large volumes of high-speed traffic.

I recommend staying in the South-west (if you're flying to Shannon, this is very convenient) and checking out what's on show in Galway, Clare, Tipperary, Limerick, Kerry and Cork.

  9. the blarney stone is a lot of ...well ... blarney !  i.e. nothing special

what is special on the other hand are :

    - The Burren, Co.Clare

    - The Cliffs of Moher, Co.Clare

    - Bunratty Castle, Co.Clare

    - Connemara, Co.Galway

    - Dingle, Co.Kerry

    - The Giant's Causeway, Co Antrim

    - The Ring of Kerry - scenic trip around the coast

All the cities are cool - particularly Dublin and Galway

    In Dublin, go see ...

    - Guinness Brewery

    - Trinity College

    - Phoenix Park

    - St.Stephens Green

    - GPO

    - Temple Bar
