if you'e looking for a small restaurant, try Devino on West Alabama going toward Montrose. It's a small and nice Italian place known for their good wine (hence the name, which is Italian meaning "of wine"). I reccomend going early on a Tuesday evening (6:00 PM) and ordering the osso buco special. The Bruchetta is good too.

For Mexican, try La Tapatilla, I go ro the one on Richmond but there are more than one.

Best BBQ in town in Bakers Ribs on Voss netween San Felipe and Westheimer.

If you like pizza, try Fuzzy's.  It is awesome!!  Christian's Tailgate for a great hamburger and Lupe Tortilla's for great fajitas.
