Don't build multi-million dollar homes on mountain sides, supported by two little toothpicks.  And then when the home is destroyed, we blame it on global warming instead of the fact that it's been raining for a week and the saturated ground gave in to gravity, taking the houses with it.

In addition, I would say that when developers are doing their job, they should take into consideration the area and slope off the area instead of straight down cutting it. Then the area in development should be planted with grasses and trees to prevent erosion and landslides.
