I'm drawing a character for a comic book that I want to be a skater/goth/tomboy and I'm trying to avoid stereotyping to make the character as believable as possible.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TomboyI read that, "while the defying of gender roles is often tolerated in young girls, older girls and adolescents who display masculine traits are often repressed and punished."So then would it be a stretch if my character dressed and acted excessively masculine as an act of defiance? Kinda like thumbing her nose at society? She's much older than an adolescent. At least 18.Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
