I'm a canadian girl with a muslim man and we haven't had any issues from the public. Our friends are very accepting. My family was a bit worried at first because a cousin of mine married a controlling lebanese man. However, since they've met my boyfriend they've fallen in love with him. His parents, however, just found out about me two days ago. I have yet to meet them though. They were far from accepting. His father thinks it is stupid of him to be with me. So needless to say I'm not looking forward to meeting them anytime soon. It is sad to think that they couldn't be more openminded. Makes you wonder why they bother coming to Canada. You know the saying treat others how you want to be treated? Well they come to Canada wanting to be excepted by Canadians but don't want to accept us? I guess there isn't much to be done. My b/f says not to worry they'll eventually get over it and accept it. He's the one that's going to be with me not them.
