  1. A gift card for a furniture store

Or if you want a physical gify try a photo book with all the wedding pictures you took or pictures of good times from the past.

    Nothing beats memories =)

  2. If they are wine drinkers, a basket with a "kit" for some wine and crackers for "the evening" is great.  Be sure to include wine glasses, cloth napkins, bottle opener, etc.  Spruce it up a bit and make it look nice.  Maybe a few nice chocolates or something.

  3. I think it depends on what they are into as a couple. But you can always get them a tradition starter gift for a home and just upscale it. Like a top notch set of Kitchen cookware, or knives. Did they fill out a registry anywhere? That might help as to what kind of things they are hoping for.

  4. Wedding presents need to be 'original' or 'unique' ..Superior quality towels, exquisite silky bedding sets and matching accessories. Kitchen and Dining room table linen. Wedding presents should be presents for eternity.

  5. coffee maker or anything else to use in the kitchen that is a bit on the pricy side

  6. Get them a really cool bathroom set. All the matching stuff. Bed Bath and Beyond has some really cool things. Or you could get something that compliments both of them. For instance, if she likes to cook and he likes to eat (what guy doesn't) then get her some really nice cookware.

  7. a peice of furtinture...

    a gold coin..

    a letter of love...

    a hand made present ...

OHH how about a personalized number plate for their car (if they have one) with their names or whatever

    awh thats cute:)

  8. supersonic waffle iron!

  9. Well for starters, always check the registry and find something there.

If they don't have a registry (which they should!), then I would get something they need rather than something "nice." Did they just move into a home together? Do they need household items?

  10. If you don't know what to get them, you could always get them one of the nicest items off their registry -- like their feather duvet, bedding set, china place setting, pots and pans set, or KitchenAid mixer.

If you want to get them something that will be a surprise, and you know your sister's taste well, then get them something nice for their home.  My sister/maid-of-honor got us a bunch of fair-trade kitchenware from around the world (salad bowl and salad servers made in Kenya, clay cookware from Columbia, etc.).  My best friend got us a Royal Albert tea set with five different tea cups (each representing a different decade of china patterns).  My other bridesmaid got us a picnic basket and a bunch of cute red picnic items to coordinate with our red kitchen.  They gifts were all very much in line with my taste, so I loved them!

Some ideas for your sister and her husband:

-- If they like to cook (or want to learn), go to a fancy cookware store and get them something cool they didn't register for, like a cocotte (Dutch oven) or wok with bamboo steamers; then get them a cookbook geared toward that cooking item, cooking for two, cooking for brides, or romantic dinners.

-- Get them a nice piece of furniture you know they don't have, such as a coffee table.

-- Get them some fancy serving platters and serving bowls, especially if they didn't register for any.  Make sure the platters are the same color as either their china or their everyday dishes.

-- If they didn't register for any, find some nice table linens that will fit their table (either a table cloth or placemats and some cloth napkins with napkin rings).

-- Get them some nice picture frames in either sterling silver (my preference) or crystal for displaying their wedding pictures.

-- If you happen to be shopping and see something decorative for their home you know your sister will love, then go ahead and get it.  Check at big home stores and little independent fair-trade boutiques (they have some cute stuff).

Good luck, and I hope this helps!
