What are some symptoms of cats that have been exposed to mold? ?

My husband and I just found out that our apartment building has mold throughout the air systems in every apartment. We have not yet learned what kind of mold. I know that cats have a stronger immune system compared to humans. However, I want to know what to look for and how it can effect them in the long run. If you could give any advice, insight or even a website, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  1. Last year I developed pneumonia, and the doctor told me it was most likely due to mould spores in an air-con unit.

If your cats are generally in good health they should be okay, but if their immunity is a little on the weak side, they may suffer breathing difficulties or develop asthma, bronchitis or allergies.  (Coughing is often a sign of infection). This link has some info which may be helpful to you.

You know your cats better than anyone, and though it isn't always easy to tell when they're not feeling well, owners can usually spot when their cat just isn't themself.  If you have any concerns about your cats' health, it wouldn't hurt to have a vet check them over.  If they come back with a clean bill of health, at least you will have peace of mind.

  2. Sneezing, coughing, vomiting and extreme tired constantly.Edit,+ loss of appetite.
