I am only 21 weeks pregnant but I have heard that exercising or walking while pregnant can help you when it comes to delivery. I've had an anxiety disorder since last summer and found out I was pregnant in May, I was working in production for a bout a month when I found out I quit and began looking for another job but anxiety hit before I foudn the other job and haven't been working since. I also don't exercise much although I know I have plenty of time. I do things around the house such as clean and I get out of the house but I still feel I could be doing more, I naturally have weak arms so I'm not worried about that but I'd really like to get in shape, I'm pretty big already so sometimes its a little tough to do a whole lot of work and I have low blood sugar which isnt a scare really I just don't want anything to happen like pass out and hurt the baby. Any ideas on things I could start to do now that will help by the time I need to deliver my little girl? :) Thanks

  1. Walking is the best way to help a delivery. It puts the pressure of the baby on your pelvis and helps it stretch. Any kind of exercise is good, but walking is definately the easiest, or was for me, and I am not small myself. Another good way is bed exercise if you know what I mean :) that brought my little girl into the world very smooth and fast. Went into labor at 11:30 pm had her at 4:56 am

  2. You sound like you are getting motivated, good for you.  Being in shape will not only help with delivery, but it helps during pregnancy to keep your baby growing and developing properly.  Start slow, try a mom-to-be yoga class, you can't help but getting more motivated then :)

  3. i have low blood sugar to and i have three kids. the exercises that i did was more of stretches like yoga. look up prego yoga. it is fun and relaxing at the same time helpful. it does help with labor too. good luck

  4. You can deal with the low blood sugar by increasing the amount of protein you are eating. Look at eating your regular three meals a day and supplementing with two protein snacks between. Have a protein snack and a glass of water before bed to increase your morning energy.

Walking every day during your pregnancy will increase your health, help your baby move into a good position for birth and will decrease stress.

You can drink a cup a day of red raspberry leaf tea to help with the anxiety. The extra protein will also help with this. Other things you can do to increase your health during pregnancy on the site below. Congrats and best wishes, G

  5. Wow... calm down.  You're just having first time Mom jitters.

Start being more active... nothing crazy, just walking.  Eat healthy meals often... that should help with the low blood sugar.  Don't worry about your arms... they will be strong once you start carrying a baby around constantly.

When it comes to labour... find a way to relax.  For me it was focusing on breathing.  It just came naturally... nothing else worked (except the epidural).
