What are some things I could list...or qualities i could say...to i identify a rock?

What would is list when trying to figure out what the rock is?

Also, streak (rub the rock against a porcelain plate to check the color of the streak), reaction to acid, and reaction to a magnet.

Are there striations on the rock?  What is its color? Does it seem to be made up of different components?  Does it have holes in it or is it solid?  Is it heavy?  Is it smooth or angular in shape?
