I know I need to get her a cake and some decorations. It's a small shower (not alot of people coming) but I still want it to be nice since it's her first baby. I need a list of things that I will need for the baby shower. (besides gifts lol)

  1. maybe a couple of games and prizes (ppl usually give them to the mommy to be!), a book to write down what she gets and who its from, and of couse punch, plates, cups, napkins, forks. Good Luck!

  2. Surprise her and the guests (since it's small) and take everyone to get a 3D/4D ultrasound done!  That's what we did this past weekend for ours!  Everyone was so surprised and loved it!  Most of those places can occupy many people in the room at the same time!

Otherwise, have a list of games and maybe some baby pictures of the mom to be and dad to be!

  3. http://www.babyshower101.com/  has  a lot of ideas

  4. I don't know what state your in but if you have a Factory Card Party Outlet store near you that is the best place to go for party favors, decorations, thank you notes ( it's nice to provide them for the mom to be) etc. They are also inexpensive so you can go all out without breaking the bank. If you know what she is having, get all the decorations centered around the gender, like "it's a boy" signs or everything in pink. You will need a sign that says baby shower out in front of your house in case there is anyone coming who doesn't know where you live. Also you will need a few games, there are tons of on-line sites for fun baby shower games, and prizes for the winners. Make sure everyone gets a prize though, or have thank you gifts that every one of the attendants will receive at the end of the shower. Also a great gift for your SIL would be a diaper cake. They are really easy to make and super cute. I've put a few websites below to help you find what you need. Also Sam's Club warehouse store has awesome cakes.

  5. I have a baby shower guide on my website.  It has TONS of great information for having a great and unique baby shower.  Timelines, essentials, games, recipes, etc.....

Check it out as I think it would be helpful for you!!!

  6. I just had a boy & twin boys..... With my baby showers it was alot of fun playing the games!!  You can go to Party City (don't know if they have one were you live) or Wal Mart/Target somewhere like that & they have a section on baby showers & all kids of decorations & balloons are too....  The best game is to me is is to get a roll of toilet paper & get ppl to guess-timate how many sheets of toilet paper it would take to go around the belly!  Then once everyone guessing then take the toilet paper & wrap it around the belly, see who is closest!  It's FUN!  But they do have a Baby Shower planning book (very in-expensive)

  7. have a table of mints, nuts, punch, and cake, with the plates, napkins, etc. then, have an area set aside for gifts. you can do games, but most people think they're silly. just let the women talk, and get to know eachother. have someone write down who gives what gifts so she can do thank you cards. also, i did clear bags with treats inside and tied blue (or pink) ribbon around the top. just be creative and don't spend too much on decorations. belive it or not, wal mart has some of the cutest supplies for baby showers. they all go in the garbage when you're through. just have fun and take it easy. good luck.

  8. Baby Shower Favors are a nice way to thank your guests, and can be budget-friendly if your guest list is small!   http://ababyshower.com/favors.html

A nice keepsake that people can sign with well wishes is a nice idea too...here's a cute "Sign Me" Umbrella to commemorate the shower:  http://ababyshower.com/smebashum.html

Also, decorations that are still useable after the shower are a great option!   Think along the lines of a diaper cake...some cute ones are here too:   http://ababyshower.com/baby-shower-diape...

And finally...mom will want to thank all her special guests.  Why not personalize some thank you cards for her?  Make a game of it too!   Ask guests to write their mailing address on the envelopes when they arrive - then pick a winner from them!  Mom saves time by having the envelopes pre-addressed and it's a fun game too.   Here are some cute personalized thank you options:  http://ababyshower.com/thankyoucards.htm...

  9. A baby book for people to sign when they get there, maybe some finger foods, at my 1st shower everybody wrote their name on a notecard and when they thought the baby would be born and the height and weight of the baby.  It was nice to put that in the baby book later.  I would probably get a corsage for her and her mother and mother in law.  You could get some pics together of her and her husband when they were children for the guests to look at.  Maybe a little quiet music.  Other than that, people will pretty much entertain themselves for a while then she will open the gifts.  Everybody will oohhh and ahhh and then it will be over.  Good Luck!

  10. money, stuff for the baby, etc
