What are some things I need when moving into a dorm/apartment?

I want to remain simple and pack lightly.

So far I got a Macbook, my ipod, I got a USB wireless internet device so I can go online anywhere.

You know any good portable printers? i like nice black and sleek stuff

what about some matress that is portable enough to fit in my mid size sedan with foldable trunk and passenger seats? what other stuff will i need?

Well dorms come with a mattress.

Maybe t.v., this is weird but try bringing a lot of spoons/forks because people never have it in their dorm so we end up using plastic forks to eat ice cream.

DUCK TAPE!!!

seriously. WD-40.  and something to clean with. some snacky food. a coffee pot if they'll let you have one.  

most dorms come with a mattress. but you'll need sheets, pillows, blankets and towls, stuff to shower with and asprin (or tylenol or something) Band-aids are also good to have.  batteries. a flashlite.  extra socks, and underwear (you don't wanna have to do laundry ever other day)  

does the dorm come with a tv? and DVD player? how about video games?

notebooks, pens, an MP3 player.  some cash (but not alot, people rob dorms like crazy that first week).  Your id, and anything the school requires like proof of immunization ect.

They usually provide a matress.You need

-bedding (comforter, sheets, pillow, pillow cases, matress pad)

-kitchenware  (pots, pans, or go for the forman grill.  You'll need dishes, glasses, utensils for eating and cooking, water pitcher)

-Bathroom (shower mats, shower caddy, towels)

-Storage (bins, laundry basket, hangers, hooks)

-Computer: (desk lamp, extension cords, )

-Vacuum, cleaners, odor removers, fan

a PORTABLE printer? LOL!!!!!! Anywayzzz, bring clothes and very effective detergent.
