What are some things a gentleman should know or do? What are some things a man should know or do?

The whole concept of being a gentleman is sexist.  It denotes a need of women for a man to protect and care for them.  I would suggest you not think in terms of how to be what culture has told you to be, and think in terms of you and women being equals.

I depends how politically correct you want to be. I have always been taught to respect everyone and treat people with a kind heart and open mind.

If you're talking about how to treat women then I guess it's pretty much all just commen sense. Be respectful and pay attention. Just be yourself.
