  1. One of the easiest things for anyone to do to use less energy is to become vegetarian.  Think of it this way- on one hand, you have soy beans, and on the other hand, you have steak.  You can get an equal amount of energy from either one, but the cow who became the steak had to eat hundreds and hundreds of pounds of soy beans to get enough muscle mass to get to your plate.  Does that make sense?  You are skipping many, many steps and lots of soy beans.  And as demand for meat goes down, so does the need for rainforest to be cleared for cattle pastures.

Another thing you can do is make sure your school recycles.  I know at my junior high they had the blue bins, but they just dumped everything all together in one dumpster.  Good luck!

  2. Recycling, obviously, is a great choice. Riding the bus is also a smart choice, Saves the ozone some fuel emissions to deal with. If you really want to go green, cut out meat and dairy (which saves water, grain, and is just plain good for you, not to mention the animals ). Reduce your shower time and do the dishes in a dishwasher, not manually.

  3. there are alot of things. our school got a recycling dumpster. what happened was a lady from this organization that gives schools this huge green dumpster came to student council and we all voted that we would want the dumpster there. so, whenever the thing gets 1 ton of paper, our school gets $5. ask your student council or an administrator about it. we have an after school organization that collects these boxes that are in each classroom.in the boxes are paper to be recycled. another thing is try to use as much of the paper as possible because remember, if you recycle one sheet, you don't get one sheet back. try to cut out the margins and use them for vocabulary flashcards. something you can do at home is when you are taking a shower, lower the output of the shower head and have a bucket in there. my shower faucet ( the one near the bottom of the tub) leaks a little stream. i put the bucket there and when it is fairly full, i turn off the water and use the bucket water. go on google and look up ways to save the enviroment.

  4. i think that a jr. high school student to go green would use paper that is recycled, become a vegetarian, and not ride in a car to school. i hope this helps. :)
