What are some things i can do to improve myself for figure skating in the fall

i want to be really really good when i return in the fall what are some exercices that i can do to improve everything? flexibilty, streght etc.

  1. Rent a yoga or pilates video and do the excersises every other day. a very cheap way to improve positions on the ice.

    also, in your sneakers, practice your jumps, especially your doubles and axel if you have learned them yet.  


  2. You should have a well balanced work out, but i find that my skating improves additionally when my quads, abs, and cardio are being addressed regularly.  

  3. off-ice!

    do jumps off-ice

    10 up and land

    10 side to side

    10 from bottom up

    10 singles

    10 doubles

    10 triples (if you are working on triples)

    10 axels

    stretch:

    do all 3 splits (r, l, and strattle)

    do spirals with a chair.

    do beillmans and leg ups (with skate on if you need to)

    spread eagle positions

    bridges

    lunges

    and anything else you can think of.
