What are some things i can do to organize a food and clothes drive for the needy?

What are somethings i can do to get people to donate food and their old clothes to help the needy in my city. THere are a lot of homeless people here too and i want to do what i can to help them. Please give me any ideas on how to get this accomplished.

You have to decide if you wish to help an organization that is already started or start your own.The best thing to do is to work at a place that is already started then see what and if you wish to continue or not. These people of need don't need someone to quit on them when the going gets tough. Please think very hard on this! Yes, go help! But be there thick and thin!
