What are some things i can say to get a conversation started with someone at school?

Give them a compliment.

I would probably say a really nice compliment, or start by saying, Hey! Are you in such and such class, and just try to go along with your senses.

make it casual... just go hi there ... or something.. they will be more suspicious if it sounds like you've made an effort to think of something to say

Ask about something they are doing or something about them. ask about homework and their teacher they got. the one about the teachers one really helped. and try to look good because ive seen people kinda wanting to ignore or go away from this person who wanted to start a covnersation, but she had dried drool on her face, and her face was dirty.
