I am having a hard time remembering what the doctor said they thought they found in my urine sample today (they are sending it off to get a culture to make sure it's not something I needed to be treated for), and also said their are some indications of dehydration.

It started with an L like lipto... something. Sorry, I don't know if any of you can answer this. It bugs the h**l out of me that I could not remember. I just had blood taken for a glucola test, I was so out of it.

Thanks.

  1. They check your protien levels in your urine during pregnancy. If your urine is concentrated (dark) it would cause suspicion of dehydration or a uti. Also yeast infections can be detected through urine. It's amazing what's in pee!

  2. Protein is a common thing found in pregnant womens urine

  3. Hmmmm.

Well, they usually check for protein (sign of preeclampsya)

and sugar (sign of diabetes),  and white blood cells (also called LEUKOCYTES...is that the word you're looking for?), which is sign of infection like a UTI, or an awful raging kidney infection called Pyelonephritis.

If they don't call you with results, I'd say "no news is good news".  If they found something alarming, they would call you for a conference.

  4. COuld have been lipids?

Thats fat, but that wouldn't necessarily be just because you are pregnant!
