I am redoing my training guidelines in a restaurant I run. So I'm trying to figure out what makes a dinning experience great. What is the one thing besides the food that is worth leaving the house and spending money at a restaurant?

  1. i think the number one thing is SERVICE from the moment they walk in from the moment they walk out, not just while they are sitting at the table

  2. the environment....

its not too noisy, you can carry on a conversation with yer guest

comfortable by sight, smells, and temperature

    clean bathrooms, comfy CLEAN table/chairs/booths

being treated like you are family, they are glad you are there and glad you came and want you to come back.

seeing the manager come and ask about the meal is a very nice way to give a compliment if you are happy with your server or your meal.

  3. The environment

    Friendliness of your help

    The wai time

    Cleanliness

Length of time to recieve foo

    Temperature of food

    Overall satisfaction

  4. ambiance-whether its romantic, casual, ethnic, whatever, thats worth a lot to me. if it feels like its worth it to have come, then it was.

attention to detail from the waitstaff, things like noticing when the wine is low, when to ask how the food is (not when i just took a bite of my food plz! lol that always happens)

great service that is there when u need them, but not hovering.

I like feeling well tended to but given space to enjoy the time.

to me it all boils down to how it feels there.

  5. ppl who give good service and very clean restroom and sections

    varieties on entrees

i have ppl who always want to sit in my section for me :)

  6. clean place, good food, good service,

  7. THE SERVICE, It's always the service, you can have a bad steak and people will come back. But if the service sucks they won't. Word of mouth can be a hurtful thing. ok the steak was a little more done than I'd like but, the service was great. I can try something else next time. But you also can have great food and S****y service. Oh man they had the best surf and truf but we had a waitress for h**l, we'll never go back.  See people go out to be pampered not soiled by service. Make your food good, but keep your service GREAT.

    Sincerely,

    Silverglow

  8. Just my opinion, but as a guy I'm not all that concerned about "ambiance".  A clean place, reasonable prices, and a variety of good food choices would be my concerns.  Not that I'm naming a specific place for any hidden reason, but take a look at the "Outback Steakhouse" chain.....they are a success for all the right reasons.
