For instance do they sell Ice tea or Crystal Light drinks??? What are some foods that are very popular here in the U.S. that they don't have in Ireland?

  1. Not so much iced tea. Hot tea is a lot more common.

There are not really any large stores like King Soopers, Walmart, etc. but you can get most things.

Food over there has a lot less preservatives than here, so watch out for things going bad.

  2. Those cookies things you get for a dollar. Donuts!!! Twinkies, Crunch bars (you can get them, they just taste like c**p), I think they're called dots??. But there are lots of things we miss that you might enjoy, King and Tayto crisps, Rashers (Bacon) and sausages and white and black pudding. Almost everything else are worldwide.

  3. I didnt see Crystal light one thing for sure you will not find as many processed foods in the store as you find here.  You will not find Hersheys chocolate syrup or velvetta cheese.

I lost a lot of weight just being snack food (American Style deprived) I loved it though I learned how to cook a ham not a smoked one a real ham/

  4. Was there last year.  Ireland has about everything the US has.  The only exception I can personally think of is Dr. Pepper.  I had a huge craving for one while I was there but I don't think there's a drop in the entire country.

  5. A lot that depends on how far out of the major cities you go...

  6. You can buy guns in the the US but not Ireland.

I disagree with people who say you can't get as much processed food here in Ireland as you can in the US.  There's TONS of processed junk out there -- just go to any Spar or Londis.

I don't know what Crystal Light is, sorry.

It's hard to find Pepsi here; hard to find chocolate donuts; hard to find iced tea (just an occasional overpriced Snapple); no hot dogs; Hershey's chocolate (local chocolate is much better); Betty Crocker frosting; cheese danish (and I mean NONE -- say 'cheese danish' to an Irish person and they look at you like you're crazy); collard greens; squashes (the vegetable -- here the word 'squash' means fruit flavored drink); in general not as great a variety of fresh vegetables as the best US supermarkets

You can't get Pepto Bismol or Nyquil here.  And all over-the-counter drugs are extremely expensive.  Plus the pharmacy clerk will interrogate you every time you want to buy a paracetomol (the equivalent to Tylenol) or any other medication.

No sam-E; DHEA; St. Johns Wort; ginkgo biloba; stevia -- these are all natural supplements that are either banned here or available only with a prescription.
