What are some things to collect without spending any money?

I have a collection of all the disposable shaving razors i used in my life time. I want things like these.

Crazy ideas welcome.

I keep telling my grandchildren that they don't need to be spending their allowance on me, just to go find me an interesting rock. Sometimes they surprise me and bring some animals they have made with other grandmothers, sometimes I get some really cool looking rocks, all sizes, shapes, colors.

One of my daughters just sent me a conglomeration of "pecos valley diamonds" in a very pretty arrangement!

Oh I dunno....how about garbage off the streets? That way you'll be helping the environment and starting up  a new hobby that doesn't cost you any coin.

How about leaves from different tree species?  Insects is another one.  If you have limestone nearby you could collect fossils.  I used to have a rock collection too.

The possibilities are endless.

This idea came to me when I was looking for things to collect and enjoy at the same time.  I collect small rocks.  Whenever I see an usual rock I pick it up and add it to one of the plant pots I have or if a little larger, I put it out in my garden.  ROCK garden, of course.  I also ask people I know when they go on a trip to bring me a rock back.  I have lots of souveniers this way from special people.  Hope this helps you.  It really is fun to collect rocks!

You can collect anything without spending money.  Just have people buy them for you.  I used to work in a trucking company and drivers would buy me magnets from different states.  

Collect something that will not rot or stink after having them so long.

Doesn't cost me a dime.
