  1. I work in a preschool and my kids loved it just recently when I found a stick and a dirt patch on our lawn. I wrote our names with the stick in the dirt and soon after a bunch of my preschoolers wanted to try to write letters or their names.

  2. One of the fun things we like to do is letter painting.

    Supplies needed...

    scissors child & teacher

    butcher paper white

    tempra or water color paint

    paint brushes

    smocks

    table (optional)

    scotch or masking tape

Write the letters big and cut them out of the paper, do this so you can use the cut out and the templete as well. No waist. Have the children help you cut the letters they can be as big as you want them to be. Some of the children can paint the letters and others can trace the letters using the left over templete hole. The children can then paint them in the grass or on a table. When you are done tape the letters to the fence and let dry in the sun.

  3. Sing lots of songs with them. Have spelling contest. Do dances. Teach them good eating habbits

  4. get all them together and make them spell out words with their body's laying down so They need to know th word and they get to move around

  5. If you are working on a letter of the day or week, you could take them on a walk to find items that start with that letter. or purchase things that start with that letter and hide them outside and have the kids search for them.

  6. Color chalk pictures on the sidewalk using letters as a base. "A" could be a house, "B" a fat man, etc.

  7. You could make a hopscotch board with letters instead of numbers.

You could try to collect items from nature that start with each letter of the alphabet.

Look for letter shapes in the environment.  (Ex: Some window panes form the the letter X.)

  8. Here is a really good website that has many free preschool learning activities and fun projects for preschoolers:

    http://www.enchantedlearning.com/categor...

  9. point out things like a tree and go what does T ree start with and emphasise on the "T" things like that

  10. Point out things to them like the "Sky" and tell them it starts with T.  Ask what else starts with a "S"?

Or say "Sue" what does your name start with?  What else do you see that starts with the letter "S".  If she need help...Does the slide start with the letter "S" or does the Bench start with the letter "S".

Once the class goes back inside, have them draw things they saw with the letter of the day..."s"

  11. a treasure hunt, find 1 item for each letter

  12. You could water paint on the sidewalk with brushes and water the letters of the alphabet. If they know the sounds, give them the sound and they write the letter that corresponds to the sound.

  13. colors, shapes, numbers, seasons, etc
