  1. ATM's are the best and easiest way to go for the best money exchange rate. There is a small fee but less than if you use an exchange company.

There are some great clubs in Cancun with a variety of shows and music. Most are in one central location so bar hopping is easy. The area is called Punta Cancun in the Hotel Zone. There is Dady'Os, BullDog, The City and Azucar just to name a few!

The second best reef in the world (after the Great Barrier Reef) is just a short distance away. You can go to Playa del Carmen or Cozemel on a tour and dive there too. Finding great dive trips is very easy!

For ruin tours there is Coba and Chichen Itza for pyramids both are spectular. There are many other ruins in the area.

Cenote swimming is always a blast! A cenote is an underwater river of fresh and salt water the formations are outstanding.

Since you don't know the area I would like to suggest the website http://www.entertainment-plus.net for tours and tour guides. They have been in business since 1998, are honest, knowledgeable and you get more than what you pay for!

Bring your swim suit, sunglasses, cap, beach towel, biodegradable sunscreen, flip flops, shoes comfortable for walking, your ATM card, insect repellent (in case of a jungle tour), and toothbrush. You can buy water and anything that you've forgotten here (we have 3-Walmarts).

    Some other local websites are:

    http://www.cancunassist.com

    http://www.cancuncare.com

Hope this helps! Have a great vacation.

Sorry...spell check is not working this morning!

  2. Check out http://www.tripupdater.com/cancun.html for a lot of good tips

  3. If you have american money, I wouldn't recommend converting it all to pesos because an american dollar goes a long way in Cancun. Bring small bills to tip your maids, bartenders, etc. If you take the bus it's only about 65 pesos so you won't need that many.

  4. My twin sister and I are going in 3 weeks.  We are going to go deep sea fishing and jet ski around cozumel.

YOU CAN bring cash.  You don't need travelers checks or a credit card unless it is you're main way to pay.   We are all inclusive stay so we will just bring cash to negotiate in the market and for our excursions.  I'm so excited!

Also there has been an increased threat of abductions however Cancun is well guarded as this is tourism is a big part of their income.  Just be careful and have fun.

Definately plan to see Xel Ha and Tulum or one atleast.  Everybody says this is a must!

    Hope this helps...

    Oh also go to http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/p...

This will show you what you can and can't bring.  Very plainly...it will also give information on the 3-1-1 carry on rule.
