  1. I like adding a few canned apricots, or some other canned fruit with some of the juice or syrup.

  2. Most people like to put sweet stuff in oatmeal, as mentioned in all of the previous responses. -- almost any kind of fruit, jam, syrup, etc.

I don't eat oatmeal (too high-carb for me), but if I could, my favorite add-ins would be butter, salt, and pepper.  Lots of pepper.

  3. Any kinds of fruit - blueberries, strawberries, bananas

Any kind of nuts - pecans, walnuts, almonds

Any kind of seasonings - cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg

  4. applesauce and cinnamon

smash a banana and add walnuts

stir in any of your favoite jams

  5. raisins

  6. Milk, honey and  ground cinnamon are my favorite things to put in oatmeal. My husband likes jam or apple butter or apple sauce in his. You can also do it savory-with some butter and salt & pepper. Maybe some spices and cheese, too. Sounds weird I know, but it's pretty good for a change. Good luck and good job for trying to eat better!

  7. Peanut butter

    any flavor of jam

    dried fruit

granola (gives the oatmeal some crunch)

  8. Maple syrup or pancake syrup, cinnamon, canned peaches, raisins, cream, apple slices, bananas & walnuts. Nutmeg Grape jelly, strawberry jam, salt & butter is good too.

  9. Vanilla, cinnamon, and Agave nectar.  YUMMY

    Maple syrup is good too

  10. bananas and pecans.  Yummy!

  11. I like to make mine using milk instead of water and then I add things like:

Cinnamon and sugar - either white or brown

Vanilla extract, almond extract, milk chocolate syrup or powder

Fresh fruit such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, chopped apples, chopped peaches, pitted cherries, sliced bananas

Canned apple pie or cherry pie filling, apple sauce, jam/preserves/marmalade

Dried fruit like mango, peaches, apples, bananas, raisins, Craisins, blueberries, strawberries, dates, cherries, papaya

Nuts like walnuts, pecans, hickory nuts, almonds

Real maple syrup, pancake syrup - any flavor, honey

    Granola

There are just so many choices and things to choose from - it all depends upon what you like.

  12. Cinnamon and raisins

    Maple syrup and brown sugar

Milk/or cream and a little butter and sugar

    Walnuts and dried cranberries

Fresh berries (blueberries, sliced strawberries, chopped apples w/ cinnamon)

Flavored coffee creamer (hazelnut, irish cream etc) and butter

a little choclate powder or syrup

Liquid flavoring (used in baking) Ex: vanilla extract

  13. I would suggest you add fresh berries or flavored coffee creamer.  Better yet...you should try the instant varieties.  I'm stuck on Quaker's Weight Control line.  This particular oatmeal offers up 7g of protein and 6g of fiber in a single serving.....you'll be full all morning on just one bowl!  The flavors that I have tried are maple & brown sugar and banana nut, both of which are very good.
