What are some things to talk about with my new friend?

i just made a new friend in my neighborhood (finally!!!) and i have no clue what to talk about.

when i first went up to her i just said hi, introduced myself, asked what school she went to and if she liked it and that was basically the end of the conversation. she is 14 and i am 15 so what can i talk to her about. any ideas are welcome except school related topics because that's boring.

Is she new? You could ask her about the town where she moved from, who she knows in her school (if you go to the same school), what TV shows she likes, music, books...find something you have in common!! :)

And most likely she'll say yeah. You can talk about TV shows that you guys like.

Yeah its hard to start conversations with out seeming a bit odd ...

Instead of like what movies do you like you could be like so have you seen the new batman film? was the joker scary or what

or..something along the lines of Do you like that Katy Perry song I kissed a girl? My friends obsessed with it but the lyrics are way too lesbiany for me..
