  1. I completely understand your problem.  It can be tough to be relaxed for sleep.  As I see it there are 2 keys, one is being relaxed and the other is keeping distractions to a minimum.

Few distractions means no TV, yes I know it hurts :)  But it makes a huge difference to actually being able to fall asleep.  Move your clock to where you can not see it while just lying down.  In general music is not a good choice, but finding some music for relaxing can help.

The other part is relaxation, all too few of us really learn to relax.  There are several really useful techniques to help you relax for sleep, on is breathing techniques, learn to do some relaxing breathing to slow your body down.  My personal favorite, and the one that I use quite often, is progressive muscle relaxation (direct link in the sources below).  This technique is concentrating on one muscle group at a time, relaxing it, then moving on to the next.  I have yet to actually finish this before falling asleep.

    Cheers and good luck,

    Aaron

  2. Sometimes I take sleeping pills to help me sleep, seeing as I'm an insomniac. But since it is now 3:37 am I guess it didn't work. :)

  3. My husband in in the army so he is always stressed so before bed i make him a mug of tea that is called sleepy time tea from Celestial seasonings. It is really good and caffeine free. i usually just put a few drops of honey and he is out within 10 minutes at most.Good luck

  4. I take a warm bath and read until I feel sleepy.

  5. 1. Read a light book

    2. Take a relaxing bath

    3. Make love with your lover

    Best wishes:-)

  6. Play my guitar and write songs.

  7. I am a night owl and have trouble settling down at night. Instead i go to bed 20 mins earlier and read in bed. It usually sends me to sleep :) But then sometimes i get a really good book and end up reading through the night.

I try to stay away from using medicines to sleep but if its important that i get a good nights sleep (like test in the morning or something) i'll occasionally take a dolased/mercyndol to send me to sleep. Bad girl i know :P

  8. First of all, no caffeine from the afternoon on.  Exercise or do some sort of physical exertion in your day to use up your energy.  At night, eat a bowl of cereal.  The milk makes you burp a few times.  Believe me, you will feel relief and relaxed after that.  Watching comedy shows that make you laugh helps to relax as well.  Reading makes me tired.  s*x (if you're of age and have a partner) relieves tension.  Lastly, a massage.  If you're by yourself, then get an iJoy massage chair.  The cheapest one is still soOo good.  It retails for about $600 I think.  Oh, and if your in bed, clear your mind and take slow, deep breaths.  Each time you breathe in through your nose, hold it for a few seconds.  Feel it expanding your lungs.  Then, slowly breathe out through your mouth.  Do it 10 times slower and slower.  I promise these things will help you.  Garranz ball barranz(old school hawaii slang meaning guarantee)!  Good luck and good night.
