  1. - not going shopping

    - not eating out

    - and start saving

  2. Follow the practices of the rich...don't waste on frivolous temptations for things I really don't want or need just because it is a bargain, watch my use of utilities, continue to enjoy my beer and sodas but bag the cans from guests as well as myself but  redeem them at a recycling center for the gas tank, buy used rather than new paperbacks, shop eBay and volume buy outlets such as Costco or PetSmart and even use coupons or look for sales.  Not everyone was born rich, some got that way through hard work and most are frugal even as billionaires.

  3. Drive less, take public transportation.

Turn the heat and A/C down when away at work or asleep. I have an automatic thermostat.

    Buy those fluorescent bulbs.

Buy only what you need, not what you want.

When buying things you need, but them on sale and buy them in bulk.

    Eat out less.

    Stop drinking.

Use the microwave instead of the oven, it uses a lot less energy.

Clean the coils on the back or underneath your refrigerator, it will run more efficiently.

  4. Not eat out at expensive restaurants, stop buying frivolous things, turn the AC down, etc.

  5. To save *on* money?

I don't go to stores where I'll be tempted to buy things. I don't drive around wasting gas. And of course, cutting back on the fast food.

  6. The best way to save money is not to spend it.  Open a savings account and set up an automatic deposit every month.  If you get a raise, put it in your savings; if you get a gift, bonus, anything extra, put it in your savings.  Truly, it's not how much you earn, it's how much you save.

I went from working full time to part time and after a painful adjustment, learned to live on part time income (my sole income).  When I went to full time again, I just saved all the extra money and lived on what I had become accustomed to.  You'd be amazed how quickly you get used to living on less.
