I had some leftover spaghetti but ran out of spaghetti sauce. So I threw some butter, parmesean and capers on the spaghetti, heat it up and it was really good!

What things have you thrown together that ended up being really good?

  1. Pork, heavy cream, white wine, onions, garlic, and dijon mustard.

    So goooood!

    or

spaghetti noodles, whipping cream, bacon, and parmesan cheese.

    :DDDD

  2. My favorite "we have no food" recipe is -

    several frozen chicken b*****s

    a can of pasta sauce

    rice

Place the chicken b*****s in a glass pan, use 3/4 of the can of sauce poured over the chicken.

Bake in a 425 degree oven.

    Cook rice.

Slice chicken b*****s, place on top of rice, and pour remaining sauce over top.

    YUM!

  3. pasta, chicken ,broccolli and cheese and cream of chicken soup

  4. Just the other night I was going to bake a cake from a Devil's Food cake mix with a can of pumpkin instead of the oil and eggs.  A friend had told me you could do this to make a low fat recipe.  Sort of like using applesauce instead of the oil.  So I opened the can of pumpkin, but it was really old and had gone off.  So I had to toss it.  I looked for some applesauce to use instead but didn't have any.  I didn't want to go to the store, so was wracking my brain for what to use.  I found a can of apple pie filling and a can of pear halves.  I opened the can of apple pie filling to use, but then I thought that it was probably too sweet, so I only put in half of it.  Then I thought, "eh, pears are kind of like apples and canned ones are mushy, so I can squish them up like applesauce."  So I smushed up the pears and put them into the cake mix along with the pear juice.  Then I chickened out and figured maybe I'd better add the eggs anyways.  So I put in the eggs, but no water and no oil.  I mixed it all up and baked it and it was the BEST cake ever!  I am definitely going to do that again!!

  5. Oh, we love to boil up some al dente pasta and add butter and garlic powder or salt to it.  Can throw in some veggies or chicken if you have it.

  6. I done that this afternoon! I had a can of pineapple, some chocolate, cream and new tin of cocoa so I made a chocolate pineapple fudge cake =]

  7. LOL this is a funny question.

Once a friend of mine invited someone over to my place and I had no fresh food. I did have left overs.  I had some red beans, some pepper steak and some rice.  The person they invited didn't eat onions at all.

I just picked the steak out of the pepper steak.  Put that into the beans, added a harbanero pepper and put that over the rice.  It was like a new meal out of leftovers, so now I do this often.  Take leftovers and make a new dish instead of just reheating the leftovers.  No one really likes leftovers because you already ate it and had your fill.
