  1. hit the center of the cue and have it headed for the one with a slight angle on it but you need a good follow through and hit it hard but under control and you must keep your eye on it

  2. It is a part of my game I am working on myself. The advice that I have had the most success with is break on either side and hit the cue ball center or just above center. Use a solid but not hard stroke and make sure to hit the 1 flush

  3. Hit the head ball dead on with slight draw on the ball you can break from either side or center table as long as you hit the headball dead center

It also helps control the cue ball

  4. Cue ball control is just as important as a good spread. But some things to think about:

No matter where you place the cue ball, hit the head ball full. If you're playing 8 ball, you might want to experiment with placing the cue ball a few inches from the side rail and aim for the second ball.

Also, some people try to go for too much power, so first limit yourself to just swinging from your elbow with as much power as you can. Try not to move your body or upper arm. This will make sure you hit the cue ball solidly in the center.

It's important to have a tight rack too. Make sure all the balls are touching. If there are gaps, you're not going to get a good spread.

  5. most importantly always have a good follow through, you can experiment with english to see what works best for you. There are many types of breaks that have different results for different games for example (8ball trying to make the 8 on break vs trying to pocket a ball) ( 9ball trying to make the 9 vs. trying to make the 1 ball in the side vs trying to make a ball) ( one pocket has a very different break most players will go for a defensive break but I have seen some players who can pocket a ball in there pocket on the break)
