  1. Here's a real good tip:

have a friend drive you around for a while, while you are the passenger close your eyes or go blindfolded. Better yet, ride your local bus but still close your eyes.

Now as you are riding, pay close attention to all the bumps, turns, dips, forces that pull you and pay special attention to all the noises the bus makes that of which, some you don't even know what they are.

When you get on the plane, you will see and appreciate how comfortable riding an airplane really is compared to a ride in a car or bus. You will notice some of those same turns, dips, bumps, forces that pull you and specially noises that you have no idea what they are.

If on the plane, you felt half of what you felt on a car or bus, you would have a heart attack.

    My best recommendation is this:

The pilot wants to get home safe too and he's the one with the hands on the "wheel" so....let him do the worrying.

So keep yourself busy with a portable mp3, DVD, a book or whatever you prefer and as Greyhound would say

"leave the driving (flying) to us)

    ps.

  2. I would recommend you get a portable dvd player and watch movies the whole time and ipods work well, too. This is what I do and it helps a lot because I have a fear of small places. Good Luck.
