What are some tips for being a very good cross country runner?

I just started for my high school and i really need improvement.

Any tips on how to excersice, what to eat etc would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The obvious answer is to do it more often and practise, but also eat a lot of pasta or noodles etc. (carbohydrates) before you run. Usually if you're good at swimming, cycling or running then you are good at the other two because they all use the same cardiovascular system. So you can always swim or cycle long distances to improve your stamina which will also improve stamina whilst running.
