What are some tips for cleaning a cat's mouth with feline herpes?

My cat has feline herpes. I rescued her two years ago and she had most of her teeth removed. She is now having a flare up and I am having a difficult time cleaning her mouth to apply the medicine given by the vet. I am scared of hurting her. Any tips you could offer are greatly appreciated.

You can try to use a blanket and wrap it snuggly around so she doesn't make much movement. Better still, have another person hold her while your administer medication.
