1. Well, my mom taught me that for easier parallel parking to drive back straight and when my front tires meet up with the back tires of the car next to me to start turning my wheel while going into the spot. This tip has worked for me and my grandfather was the one who told my mom. That or they can just pull in behind a single car and not have to worry about parking between two cars.

  2. Experience

  3. Practice, you really cant tell someone how to parallel park, plus parallel parksing doesnt have anything much to do with safe driving??

  4. maybe this will help -

  5. Relax!

    Start off slowly.

    Assume position.

Prepare to back into the space.

Setting up the angle, begin to move.

Take your time; make adjustments if necessary.

    Checking the front and back.

    Make adjustments.

  6. - Drive next to the car you'll be parking behind [side by side - not 7 feet, but also not 3 inches, you'll have to learn how to judge that]

    - Look out the back of your right window [depends on the kind of car you drive, but in a regular sedan, it's the back window]

    - Start rolling backwards [sloooooowly] until you see the back end of the car next to you through the back end of your window [it all depends on the cars, you want to train it a bit]

    - Turn the wheel all the way to the right

    - roll back the car [slooooooowly] until you see the right headlight of the car behind you in your left mirror [the car's right, not -your- right]

    - Turn the wheel until your tires are lined up straight

    - Roll back [slooooooooowly] until your right hand mirror is about at the same level as the rear bumper of the car in front of you.

    - Turn the wheel all the way to the left.

    - Roll back [sloooooooooowly] until the front of your car slides smoothly into the vacant space

    - Turn the wheel until your tires are lined up straight

    - You're done

Stop between each phase until you are comfortable enough to do it in a smooth maneuver.

That's the perfect maneuver. Don't expect to get it right every time. You may have to slightly adjust your maneuvering if you didn't get the angles right, if there wasn't that much space between the cars, etc.

    - move slowly in whatever you do

    - don't get nervous, you'll make mistakes that cost money

    - if you feel yourself hitting anything. STOP at once [and because you were driving slowly, you can do that without causing anything dramatic happening]. Do stop, don't think 'Ill just grind past it'. Big mistake. Don't do it.

    - Learn to use your mirrors. Make sure they are set for you, when you're driving.

Practice a lot, do not get nervous, learn how to do it right. After a while you will know what works and what doesn't and your confidence will build.

Drive safely. Don't become a traffic statistic, it is very much uncool.

  7. There's really no way to master this other than practicing... over and over and over again. It becomes a matter of estimating distances and predicting when it's time to turn the wheels, and you can only get that through practice.

Find an empty parking lot and pull up next to a parking space as though it's a spot to parallel park into, and practice there. The parking space lines serve as a great guide and help you get used to predicting when to turn... and there are no objects to hit so you're much more comfortable practicing it.

That's how my dad taught me.

Now I can parallel park perfectly, pulling back into a space on the right or even on the left (very useful for one-way streets with parking on both sides!).

But it's all because of all that practicing.

  8. :get a friend to stand on the pavement and watch you reverse in, then when your friend says its time for you to straighten up, stop and pick a point in your wing mirror as to wear you car meets the kerb then either remember that point or put a marker on your car so you know when to start turning and straightening up in the future

  9. It takes practice and patience. Have a friend watch you outside your car to direct you. First, pull up real close to the car in front of the spot you wish to park in, and line up your side mirror with the side mirror of the car in front of you. Be as close as possible. Then, reverse (making sure your bumper isn't going to hit the other car!) into the spot, turning your wheel sharply, so as your car's back tires are close to the curb. Start straightening out as you ease the car into the spot.. and there you have it! It's good to have a friend there to direct you, and make sure you're not going to hit anything, or that you don't park UP on the curb!

Just remember, practice makes perfect, and be patient. ;) Good luck.
