  1. if your on about a hurley from the sport hurling iv played since i was ten and iv never heard anyone shave off any part...all ill say about storing is dont leave it outside it could rain and iv only ever oiled a hurl once they brake regularly so there was never any point..id say safest place for a hurl is ur room iv 3bros so theres loads of giving out eg.did u use my hurley, did u take my hurley, wheres d sliotar, who left my hurley outside(u did) etc.

some hurleys can be better than others like falconers from piltown kilkenny gone to the dogs i used brake one in every match i played..it all depends how long they've let them season for..frank murphys from kilmeaden co.waterford are lovely hurls.

    keep your hurley indoors,

    dunno about d shaving,

and id reckon oil it about once a month if dont actually play!!

    hope my answers helped :)

  2. Why would you shave bits off?

I'v played Hurling for a few years and all I done was kept it dry ( or dry it out ) and maybe hammer in the steel band if it came loose
