  1. Well I have a meet today. And I know you definately don't want to tense up, loosen your hands @guest2208 is right, you WILL pass out. It is very important to stretch before you run or else you will get tired a lot easier and get cramps easier. Eat lots of carbs and stay hydrated. After your run drink some water but not too much you will get really sick.

    Don't sprint in the first couple laps, sprint full out on your last 100 meter run it really helps! So jog the first 3 laps and then start speeding up a little bit on your 4th then full out sprint on your last 100 meters. Thats what my coach told me to do and it works!
