  1. I don't know if  fathers count.

When I was young, he was not well off. He had to work a lot to support a family. I was a teen and I wanted a black leather jacket. We walked in and out shops the whole day and I didn't like a thing. Then we entered a boutique and I tried on a red leather jacket. Its price was about three-four times the others and I really didn't need a red jacket, so we returned home. THe next day , in the afternoon, my father came home with a big gift box. He said the glitter in my eyes when I tried it on, was worth more than the price.Made me cry with joy.  I still keep the jacket although it is about 3-4 sizes too tiny for me.I can put my leg where there used to be my waist.

Another occasion with him, was when I was married with a child 2 months old. We had had a very bad fight with my husband and I phoned my father to ask if I could come over for a day or two. He came with a van (borrowed from a friend ) and took me. All the while, my husband, my in laws etc visited me and the baby in his house. He saw that I didn't want to share my story, and he never asked. He told me ' This is your house, you can stay as long as you like. You have another house with your husband and you can leave whenever you like. If you want to find another solution, rent a house, find work etc, I'll back you up'. Made me cry with gratitude. I had stayed for about 3-4 months.

    May he rest in peace.

  2. this is what my dad told me when i was eight.  " if you get into a fight it is not because they like you take them out."  i have lived by this and now i'm a cop.

  3. just yesterday my insurance company followed up on me after a few ect treatments and they actually hooked me up with a phone therapist that probably saved my life. I was freaking out but she calmed me down, helped me see the other side, it was just very fortunate to have someone to talk to and to have someone understand what I was going through. It wasn't her job to listen to my c**p or to talk to me the 5 times i called her yesterday but she did and took her time to make me feel better. i am still amazed by her kindness, can only hope to be somewhat like her if needed
