  1. Hey I'm from Aus, I'm not sure we're your from but we eat pretty much the same types of food as most Western countires like US, England etc. There's alot of Asian influence, and alot of Asian restaurants but also European, Mexican, South American anything really. If you mean typical Aussie foods these are things like Vegemite, weetbix, Anzac biscuits(we call them biscuits not cookies), tim tams, lamingtons. Check out these websites for recipes and such... But in genral we don't really have our own "cuisine" as such.

  2. Australians tend to eat what the British eat(meat pies, roasts, sausage, etc).

That means that, like the Brits, they also eat whatever countries' people who have set up restaurants there also eat(curries, sushi, pasta, etc).

Pavlova's a dubious one. In fact, New Zealand claims that one, too.

And it's a real "storm in a teacup" argument. Nice to know that we live in a peaceful enough environment, unlike certain areas in the world, where the biggest problem is who can claim ownership of the origins of a recipe! :D

  3. meat pie!

  4. the best aussie food is a sausage in bread with onion and sauce :)

  5. The most reknown website for us Aussies is http://www.AussieFoodShop.com they havve all the typical australian foods. Check them out, they are quite responsive and if you need anything just ask! cheers

  6. sea food is a big part of our diets on special occasions really (prawn on the barbie)

    *pavlova

*vegemite (which is the hopps from the top of beer fermented)

    *milo

    *weet bix

    *steak

*meat pie , pasties, sausage rolls

  7. Australia is a multicultural country. We eat everything.

There will be food that you're familiar with over here in Australia.. And new food for you to try.

Apparently our taste buds are different from Americans. Our food is not as sweet as American food..

  8. Kangaroo steak, vegemite, weet bix, Madura tea, most of the foods Aussies eat comes from all over the world, Europe, Asia...etc

  9. The ultimate Australian food is Vegemite...yuck does not fully capture a description of the flavor.

Most food you eat in Australia is fairly similar to what people eat in the US/Western Europe. The Australian cuisine largely comes from food brought over by the British, though indigenous Australian food exists and has fused with the Western food.

Larger emphasis on meat, especially grilled (Aussies throw some meat on the Barbie).
