An example of when cultures 'clash' lol.

In this advert the British guest is under the impression that he has to finish the whole plate of food or his hosts will think that he didn't enjoy it - but the hosts are thinking that if he finished his food then he must be still hungry and want more!

So he's struggling to eat food that he doesn't want and they're amazed by how much he can eat and keep bringing him more!

I just love the look on his face when they bring the last one out!

Have a look at modern western culture. It may dominate over other cultures in terms of its influence and presence throughout the world, but in comparison to other cultures it is extremely different. In fact you could describe it as being an"anti-culture".

I know there is a particular tribe in Africa that initiates children into adulthood by cutting their faces, forehead to chin, cheek to cheek, to leave a design of scars.

The gang called the "blood" here in the U.S. kinda does the same thing to get initiated, but not to people they know.  It's called "one-hundred and fifty".  They have to cut someone on the face so bad it needs one-hundred and fifty stitches, and a giant scar for life.

There is nothing unique about being unique. Cultural practices are just local environmental responses that evolved humans make.

Only cultural anthropologist make a big deal of this " variation on a theme " human behavior.

Well apparently here in the USA there ares some people that think it is acceptable to rape 14 year old girls. Don't worry because it is freedom of religion.

In China they used to wrap feet so tight that it would cripple most women. Can't have them running away now.

Some place in south east Asia woman have to put things on there necks to push there shoulder down. They can not hold there necks up without the device. It is called the Karen Tradition.

In Alaska they eat rotten 3 day old buried fish heads.

In some African tribes, men kill their favorite dogs and eat them so they can take on a part of there dogs good personality.
