  1. My favorite is the Jacaranda tree...covered with purple flowers in the spring and summer.  I understand they are very messy and sticky, but they sure are pretty.

    Can't think of anything too UNUSUAL for animals, but there is a park in the south Doñana, which is a refuge for birds, mostly waterfowl, and you can see tons of flamingos there.  I can´t remember if they are there all year, or only seasonally.  And there are tons of storks in the Central plateau area.
