I might be stating soon. So, that's why.

Does it ever get lonely and depressing, or what?

  1. I home school my son threw the k12 program we have outings teachers everything pretty much public schools have and it doesn't get lonely if you participate in outings have friends in your neighbor hood and lead a normal life it is not for everyone it is different for some they may find it boring but we like it my son has an illness that is why we started after two years we really love it and he has really ex celled checked into it with your parents and make sure you really want to commit good luck

  2. I've met alot of people who were home schooled and not one of those people liked it....  also they didn't meet new people until they went to work (about 17 years old) and their parents didn't ask much of them, their curriculum was easy and if they didn't know an answer then the mom gave it to them anyway.  If youre happy to go through life with an 8th grade education (I'm assuming youre in 8th grade because you said you might be home schooled for high school) then get home schooled.

  3. I homeschooled 2 of my boys for homeschool.  They were able to keep in touch with their friends by doing sports through the school (allowed for  our homeschooling laws) and took 1-2 classes a year in the public school.  They also went to dances, joined our rec center and found part time jobs.

My boys felt they had more time for socializing since they had less school time.  You get more one on one time allowing for lessons to move more quickly, freedom to explore subjects more thoroughly, study areas of interest for instance one of my boys enjoyed Forensic science and we did several classes in that area.  Longer lunch time was a plus for them too

downs:  less of a variety in viewpoints on a subject.  Lunchtime could get a little lonely, hearing the school gossip after everyone was out of school, having to find out what was going on for dances and sports instead of hearing about it over the intercom.
