I have a great refrigerator/freezer unit, that comes with an Icemaker. The way the defrost cycle works, though, causes the ice in the ice maker bin to become clumped. Not right away, but it clumps over time. About once a month, I can pull out a clump of ice cubes about 7 inches across. As I look around the house, I can find a number of uses for this clump of ice. But I am certain that other people must be more creative than me. So this is your opportunity to figure out -- what should I do with that 7" clump of ice cubes? As I write this, I have one sitting in the sink -- right now -- waiting for me to figure out what to do with it.

  1. The dog or cat water bowls.  My dog loves the ice water in his bowl!

  2. I let mine melt and use it to water my plants both indoors and outdoors.

If you're having a party you could use it in a punch bowl.

  3. I dump into my pets water dish everyday. My cat loves trying to paw it out. Or if it's a large piece take it outside and lay it next to a plant or shrub.

  4. Put it in a flower pot to water your plants. Make sure it's not toucing the stem.
