We had a really sucky season last year. Our team wasn't united. What are some things we can do to bond? Also, what are some good excercises our team can do?

  1. 1. In the offseason get your together a play at an open gym.

    2. During the season get your coach to schedule a series of preseason scrimmages against teams far superior to yours.

    3. During games talk, talk, talk and have a celebration for everything good (without showing up the other team).

    4. Remember volleyball is in large part a game of momentum, control the pace of the match.

  2. to always get it over the net and youll have great succes

  3. I've played  volleyball for 11 years and no matter what team I played with we've always had said to ourselves that there is no I in team. You can't win a game all alone when you play volleyball. This is the kind of sport were your team needs to realize that your a family when your out on that court. Even if each person has grudges agianst one another our coach made us suck it up. Infact if someone did have problems she would pair up thoses girls till they got their act straight. Once your on that court your not highschool students or w/e, your volleyball players.

One thing that we did to get us closer was to do secret sister. We drew names out of a hat and that was the person we would by presents for each game or whenever you got a chance. It can be as small as a Gatorade if you'de like. But as you leave each present tell a little something about yourself that no one knows about you. At the end of the season you can say who your secret sister was in all.

This has always worked for us and my highschool team was second in regionals and one year 1st in state. Some of us had been playing together for many years, and some of us not so much. But our unity made us a family. We communicated, we played, and we never gave up another team member.

  4. Do some trust excercises! Do a lot of scrimaging and find like, 2 or 3 people you really have chemistry with! Work on reading each other minds(not literally).

  5. you should focus o being able t pass it to eachother easily. Also work on zones so that all the players dont dive for the ball at the smae time. Latly, you shuld wear special voleyball tape around your wrists so that you wont get hurt when serving

  6. The absolute best way to both win more games and to unite your team, is to make cheers, and perform them constantly.  If your team is loud, and at least sounds happy, the other team is going to be intimidated.  The louder you yell, the more encouraging it is.  Every good pass, set, and hit should be recognized.  Every ace should echo inside the whole gym so everyone knows.  This will kind of crush the other teams confidence, which sounds a little mean, but it works.

  7. team training

  8. Call every ball, and once you call it go for it. Basically be ball hogs, just don't get in the way of others.

Also, if you don't get along with them, that okay outside the court, once on the court you have to get along.

    Practice, practice, practice.

  9. there is no I in team

    or...

    bump

    set

    SPIKE

  10. I would go on a sleepover/retreat type thing just for your vball team. I would find a retreat center in your area (most are run by churches/religions) but they can help your coach plan a retreat (w/ or w/o religion) that would bring your team closer together. We did something like that for basketball, and we ended up being league and tournament champs.

  11. That's like our JV team. They lost all their games. I think you should do something like sand volleyball and get another team to play with you.
