  1. I am in the USA in a competitive state of DE.  Good times for varsity high school girls are

    50yd  fr  27

100yd  fr 57-1:00  Anything faster is exceptional

    200yd  fr  2:08

    100yd  fl 1:05

    100yd  bk 1:07

    100yd  br 1:16

    200yd  IM 2:20

These are times of a competitive school girls that are first string (likely to be middle of the pool swimmers)

  2. Ok im in the UK so dont really know what varsity is!

But the best swimmers at my school aged 16 can swim 25 in about 14.0 secs, 50m in around 28-29 seconds and 100m in about 1.05. This is front crawl.

The best breaststroke girl swimmer in my school is 17 and can swim 25m in 13.47 secs! And 50m in 29 secs!

But you should really keep tabs of your own times and try and beat them or consistently match them!

Try something like swimming 10 sets of 25m and try to hit 15 seconds everytime.

If you are looking to improve your long distance swimming (50m, 100m, 200m) swim longer distances at consistent speeds. Im not that great a swimmer but I found this summer that swimming 500m with each 25m being about 20secs really improved my 100m time. At the beginning of the summer it was 1:15.00 and now it is a 1:05.

I also found that doing lots of 100m sprints in different strokes helped my 25m and 50m times which both saw drops. From 15secs to 13secs and 33secs to 29secs respectively!

I hope this has helped you and good luck!
